We address partition problems of Erd?s and Hajnal by showing that for all , if and carries a -dense ideal. Thymopoietins I and II are chemically related peptides able to inhibit neuromuscular transmission. They were first isolated from bovine thymus by a protein-denaturating method, which may have destroyed other thymic factors displaying the same biological activity. The present investigation, based on a new gentle isolation procedure, suggests that thymopoietins are the only factors impairing neuromuscular transmission that are present in the thymus. The yield of the new procedure is at least twice as high as that of the original method.  相似文献

Clean Pt(100) surfaces with bulk-like 1×1 structure, or the stable, reconstructed 5×20 structure and held at 200 or 330 K were exposed to ethylene. Ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy identified the nature of the adsorbed species which depends on the structure and temperature of the clean surface and the amount adsorbed. It is ethylene on the 5 × 20 structure at 200 K, a vinyl radical on the same surface at 300 K up to half a monolayer, the remainder being added as acetylene; it is acetylene on the 1 × 1 surface at 330 K and a mixture of acetylene, vinyl and ethylene on the 1 × 1 surface at 200 K. Whatever the nature of the adsorbate, the surface coverage θ increased with exposure ? as (1 ? θ = C??13). By contrast, on a surface covered with any C2 hydrocarbon acetylene adsorbs with Langmuir kinetics. The kinetics are explained in terms of the relationship between the attraction an approaching molecule experiences from the bare surface and its Van der Waals repulsion from preadsorbed molecules.  相似文献

We consider a model dense colloidal dispersion at the glass transition, and investigate the connection between equilibrium stress fluctuations, seen in linear shear moduli, and the shear stresses under strong flow conditions far from equilibrium, viz., flow curves for finite shear rates. To this purpose, thermosensitive core-shell particles consisting of a polystyrene core and a cross-linked poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) shell were synthesized. Data over an extended range in shear rates and frequencies are compared to theoretical results from integrations through transients and mode coupling approaches. The connection between nonlinear rheology and glass transition is clarified. While the theoretical models semiquantitatively fit the data taken in fluid states and the predominant elastic response of glass, a yet unaccounted dissipative mechanism is identified in glassy states.  相似文献

Retrospective dosimetry is one of the most important tools of accidental dosimetry for dose estimation when dose measurement was not planned. In the affected area many objects can be applied as natural dosimeters. The paper discusses our recent investigations on various electronic components and common salt (NaCl) having useful thermoluminescence (TL) properties. Among materials investigated the electronic components of cell phones seem promising for retrospective dosimetry purposes, having high TL responses, proper glow curve peaks and the intensity of TL peaks vs. gamma dose received provided nearly linear response in the dose range of 10 mGy–1.5 Gy.  相似文献

Analytical and numerical calculations for a reduced Fermi-Pasta-Ulam chain demonstrate that energy localization does not require more than one conserved quantity. Clear evidence for the existence of a sharp delocalization-localization transition at a critical amplitude A_c is given. Approaching A_c from above and below, diverging time scales occur. Above A_c, the energy packet converges towards a discrete breather. Nevertheless, ballistic energy transportation is present, demonstrating that its existence does not necessarily imply delocalization.  相似文献
